I’m a former race car driver (imagined) and current software developer (actual) with a bit of a background in business (since I was a kid).
My interests over the years have often led me to wanting to have a place to express my opinions (rants). And although I’m late to the game, the site that inspired me over the years has been John Gruber’s Daring Fireball. I particularly ascribe to his mantra that “if you want to comment, do it in your own space” - hence why there are no comments on this site. Also, because “have you read the comments on any site these days?”
The blog engine Blot was the final push. Given my tech background, I have a constant need to tinker with any tech. Blot allows me space to breathe and just write without having to think about the tech for actual writing. I’d tried to start a blog for years but always ended up fidgeting with the tech so much that the writing never started. And thanks to this tweet from Merlin Mann, Blot it is!
The DBF challenge this week is to make something with David Merfield's wonderful "Blot" blogging platform.

I'm mostly just shucking and jiving, but here's a quickie archive of the Roderick on the Line house ads so far.https://t.co/ZYOA0zhd2b
